Personal Insight

For years, I approached physical health from a place of self-punishment. Exercise was something to endure, and my body was something to criticize. The transformation began when I started appreciating what my body could do rather than focusing on how it looked.

I remember the morning I stood on the beach, feeling gratitude for my legs that carried me there, my lungs that could breathe the fresh air, my senses that allowed me to experience the beauty around me. This shift from criticism to appreciation completely transformed my relationship with my physical self.

What surprised me most was how this change in perspective affected my actual physical well-being. When I began treating my body as a friend rather than an adversary, I naturally made more supportive choices—not from rigid discipline but from genuine care.
