Today’s Practice: Inner Child Healing (15 Minutes)

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Begin as you did yesterday, finding a quiet space, taking several deep breaths, and visualizing yourself meeting your inner child in a safe, comfortable setting.
  2. Connect with your adult resources before engaging with your inner child:
    • Feel your feet firmly on the ground, connecting with your present-day strength
    • Remind yourself of the wisdom and capabilities you now possess
    • Acknowledge the perspective you’ve gained through your life experience
  3. As you approach your inner child, notice if there’s a specific situation or emotion they’re experiencing:
    • Perhaps they’re feeling scared, lonely, confused, or unseen
    • They might be in a specific memory or simply carrying an emotional state
  4. Ask your inner child: “What do you need right now that you didn’t receive then?”
    • Listen deeply without judgment
    • Common needs include safety, validation, protection, or simply being heard
  5. From your adult perspective, offer what was missing:
    • If they needed protection, you might say: “I’m here now, and I won’t let anyone hurt you.”
    • If they needed validation, you might say: “Your feelings make perfect sense, and they matter.”
    • If they needed to be seen, you might say: “I see you completely, and you are enough exactly as you are.”
  6. Notice any resistance or blocks that arise as you offer this healing:
    • You might feel sadness about what wasn’t received
    • You might encounter doubts about your ability to provide this now
    • Simply observe these responses with the acceptance you practiced on Day 9
  7. Complete the practice by making a heartfelt commitment to continue showing up for your inner child, and gently return to present awareness.
