Personal Insight
For years, I approached physical health from a place of self-punishment. Exercise was something to be endured, and my body was something to criticize. The transformation began when I noticed how this approach was draining rather than enhancing my energy and joy.
The shift happened gradually, beginning with simply paying attention to what naturally felt good to my body. I discovered that early morning beach walks followed by ocean swims weren’t “exercise” I had to force myself to do—they were experiences my body genuinely enjoyed. This gentle approach led to more energy, better choices, and a completely different relationship with my physical self.
What surprised me most was that this gentler approach actually created more sustainable changes than years of pushing and controlling had achieved. When I began listening to my body rather than fighting against it, physical wellbeing became a natural expression of self-love rather than a battle to be won.
