Personal Insight
My journey to a sustainable morning ritual wasn’t a straight path. I began with an ambitious two-hour routine that quickly proved unsustainable with my business demands. What transformed my approach was shifting from rigid expectations to a flexible framework based on core elements.
My non-negotiables became natural light exposure, a brief grounding practice, and setting intentions for the day. On some days, this might expand to include ocean swimming and meditation; on others, it might be just 15 minutes of these core elements. This flexibility made my practice sustainable while still providing the foundation I needed.
The most surprising outcome wasn’t just how this ritual supported my day, but how it gradually rewired my relationship with myself. Starting each day with intentional self-care became a constant reminder of my inherent worth, independent of achievements or productivity. Over time, this morning connection with myself became something I genuinely looked forward to rather than another item on my to-do list.
