Personal Insight
One of the most profound shifts in my self-love journey came when I began being more selective about my close relationships. I realized that despite all my inner work, certain relationships consistently left me feeling drained, doubting myself, or compromising my needs.
I started by deepening connections with two friends who were on similar growth journeys. We created a simple practice of checking in about our self-care and personal development, celebrating wins and supporting each other through challenges. These relationships became safe spaces where I could be completely authentic about both my struggles and progress.
What surprised me most was how these supportive connections created momentum. Having people who noticed and acknowledged my growth made the changes more tangible. When I’d slip into old patterns, these friends gently reflected my new capacities back to me: “Remember how you mentioned wanting to honor your need for rest? What would that look like right now?”
These weren’t therapeutic relationships—just authentic connections where growth was valued and self-love was practiced. They became mirrors reflecting back my highest self, especially when I couldn’t see it clearly myself.
